My expertise has been developed through a progression from apprenticeship to college and university, up to PhD level. As a result, I have first-hand experience of different academic stages and the skills required at each level of study, which I use to help each student achieve their goals and aspirations. I am confident in supporting students in all sciences up to National 5 and can assist with all biological sciences up to graduate level.
One of my key strengths is communication; I am skilled at breaking down complex topics into simple, understandable steps and adapting my explanations depending on how a student learns best. I am responsive to individual needs and adjust my teaching style accordingly. My organised and structured approach to learning helps develop clear study plans, improve exam technique, and build effective strategies for retaining information.
My experience in mentoring and career support has made me calm, patient and supportive. I aim to not only improve their grades but also feel more capable and confident in their own ability to learn, as I believe these go hand in hand in accomplishing results - helping students move one step closer to their goals after each session.
