Experienced Modern Studies teacher of National 5 and Higher level

I have wide ranging experience of teaching all year groups and levels in Modern Studies. I have significant experience of leading my department as subject leader and have played a key role in the extended leadership of my current school. I have had responsibility for developing professional learning for student teachers and managing the development of staff. I have always had a passion for my subject and this comes across in my learning and teaching strategies. Any student taught by me has a very experienced practitioner who is very adept with SQA exams.

From a private tutoring stance I have a very successful track record, including all 2025 exam diet pupils gaining an A grade.

I am also an Education Scotland Associate in Social Studies with a key role in the Curriculum Improvement Cycle for Scottish education. This is giving me an in depth insight and leading role in the changes to Social Studies.
