First of all make the student feel at ease.ask the student what are their difficulties. Explain how you and the student will approach the ascertained difficulty. It may be necessary to explain legal issues from a practical point of view so the student can relate the issue to a real life problem. As an experienced academic and practitioner I am able to understand why a student may have difficulties with a legal issue. Patience is a major requisite and it is necessary not to assume the understand rather ensure they understand.
