Textile artist offering lessons in sewing, quilting, embroidery, knitting, and crochet

I'm experienced in a wide range of textile arts. I'm happy to start with absolute beginners: I can teach you how to lay out a pattern for cutting, how to use a sewing machine, how to put in zippers and gathers and buttonholes. For quilting, I like to be able to take a student all the way through a mini quilt, a 12" block that we can choose fabrics for, cut, piece, quilt, and bind together. For knitting, or embroidery, I encourage students to practice between sessions, to build muscle memory. We'll start from the basics, and as you gain skill and confidence, move on to refinements, and try different things depending on your interests. Every student has their own strengths, weaknesses, and ambitions, so I tailor my approach to each individual. I foster a supportive, positive learning environment where student and teacher can enjoy crafting together.
