Advert description
I'm a Computer Science student at Oxford Brookes University, and I tutor GCSE Computer Science on the OCR J277 specification, the exact course I sat myself not too long ago. That matters: I remember precisely where this subject trips people up, because I was there recently.
Most students don't struggle because they "can't do computing". They struggle because two things feel overwhelming: writing Python (code) that actually runs, and the written paper, where you lose marks not for not knowing the content, but for not knowing how the examiner wants it phrased.
That's what I focus on. For programming, we build confidence step by step, from understanding what the code is doing to writing and debugging it yourself, rather than copying. For theory, we work through the J277 spec topic by topic and drill exam technique on past papers, so you know exactly how to answer for full marks.
Lessons are structured and focused. Whether you're starting from scratch, pushing a grade 5 up to a 7, or chasing the top marks, I work out quickly where you're losing marks and we target that, not vague "revision". Every session includes practice questions so progress is visible, not just hoped for.
If you want a tutor who knows this specification inside out and can turn limited time into real results, get in touch.
