Experienced English Language & Literature Teacher

I am a highly experienced and dedicated English Language and Literature teacher with extensive experience teaching secondary students across a range of ages and abilities. As a native English speaker with a degree in English Literature and a PGCEi from the University of Nottingham, I bring strong subject knowledge, professionalism and a genuine passion for helping students achieve their potential.
I have considerable experience teaching English Language and Literature at secondary level, including IGCSE and A Level, as well as international curricula. My teaching focuses on developing confident, independent learners with strong skills in literary analysis, critical thinking, essay writing, creative writing, comprehension and effective communication.
As an online teacher, I create engaging, well-structured and personalised lessons adapted to each student's individual needs, learning style and academic goals. I am particularly skilled at building positive relationships with students and creating an environment in which they feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and developing confidence.
One of my greatest strengths is my ability to explain complex literary and linguistic concepts in an accessible way. I combine high academic expectations with patience, empathy and encouragement, helping students to recognise their strengths while addressing areas for improvement.
Having held English coordination and leadership responsibilities, including several years as Head of English, I also bring extensive experience in curriculum planning, assessment, mentoring and examination preparation.
