Hi, I'm Johanna, a native English teacher and fluent Spanish speaker. I have been living and working in Málaga, Spain, for many years and will shortly be moving back to the UK for a period of time. I offer both online and face-to-face English lessons for secondary-school students and adults, as well as Spanish lessons from beginner level up to C1.
What can I offer?
IGCSE, AS and A Level tuition – English Language, English Literature and English as a Second Language.
English classes for adults – conversation, interview preparation, academic and professional writing, editing and proofreading, including university assignments, theses and professional documents.
Exam preparation – Cambridge English CEFR examinations from B1 to C2, as well as Trinity ISE I and ISE II+.
Spanish tuition up to C1 level – including conversation, grammar, vocabulary, reading and writing.
General academic support – personalised tuition for students of all ages and abilities.
Online tuition – allowing me to continue working with students in both the UK and Spain.
A little more about me...
My experience
Having lived in Spain for many years, the majority of my professional career has been dedicated to education. I will shortly be returning to the UK for a period of time and am particularly interested in working with UK-based students, while continuing to offer online tuition internationally.
I have extensive experience teaching in international schools in Málaga, delivering English Language, English Literature and English as a Second Language, including IGCSE, AS and A Level courses. I have worked at several prestigious international schools on the Costa del Sol, as well as English academies and Cambridge CEFR and Trinity ISE examination-preparation centres.
I have considerable experience working with secondary students aged 11–18, as well as adult learners. I am passionate about creating supportive, engaging lessons and building strong relationships with my students, helping them develop both their academic ability and their confidence.
Qualifications
My qualifications include university studies in English Literature, Creative Writing and Modern Foreign Languages (French and Spanish), as well as professional teacher training and a TEFL qualification for teaching English as a foreign language.
As a fluent Spanish speaker with many years of experience living and working in Spain, I can also provide Spanish tuition from beginner level through to C1.

My aim is to help every student make genuine, measurable progress while enjoying the learning process. I believe that confidence is just as important as technical knowledge, so my lessons are supportive, personalised and adapted to each student's individual needs.
