Psychology tutor providing help for overwhelmed students

Psychology's complicated history and wide array of specialisations is a blessing and a curse - there's something for everyone to click with, but finding it feels like trying to find shoes that fit by going through every single pair in stock one by one. Add to this the class structure of being taught several different very specific aspects of psychology concurrently and it's like having a shop assistant loudly counting down the time you have left to find the pair that fits while occasionally prodding you in the back with a sharp stick.

In my lessons, I provide a space for students to explore psychology as a discipline - understanding disparate classes in the context of one another and finding what approach appeals to them most. In addition to this guided exploration of the field, I provide practical advice on navigating new subjects, including reviewing literature, assessing sources, and constructing/organising arguments. As a recently graduated student with a degree in applied psychology who has experience conducting quantiative and qualitative research projects, as well as systematic reviews, I have a wide knowledge of the different aspects of psychological research and how overwhelming diving into the field headfirst can be.
