Advert description
I achieved a Grade 9 in GCSE Maths, 96% in A-Level Maths and an A in A-Level Further Mathematics, and I have two years of experience tutoring Maths to students of different ages and abilities.
I know that Maths can feel overwhelming when a topic simply doesn't "click". My approach is friendly, patient and completely tailored to the individual student. Rather than rushing through the content, I break difficult topics down into clear, managable steps and build up from the basics.
My lessons can focus on whatever you need most, including:
*Building confidence in Maths
*Going back over difficult topics
*Working through homework and classwork
*GCSE exam preperation
*Past-paper and exam-style questions
*Improving exam technique
*Tackling higher-grade questions
A big focus of my teaching is helping students understand why a method works, rather than simply memorising a set of steps. This makes is much easier to recognise what an unfamiliar exam question is really asking.
I also place a strong emphasis on exam technique and recognising common question types. When I was sitting my own exams, one of my biggest strengths was being able to look past complicated wording and identify the core Maths being tested. I aim to teach students the same skill so that unfamiliar questions feel much less intimidating.
Having tutored one-to-one for two years, I understand that every student learns differently. If one explanation doesn't make sense, we'll try another. I'm always happy to slow down, revisit the basics or spend extra time on a particular topic.
Whether you're currently struggling with Maths and want to build your confidence, or you're already doing well and want to push towards a Grade 8 or 9, I'll adapt our lessons to your current leve and the grades you want to achieve.
