Advert description
I would begin by speaking to the student about what they are currently studying, which topics they feel confident with, and which areas they find more difficult. I would then plan lessons around their individual needs rather than using exactly the same approach for every student. During each lesson, I would break complicated biological processes down into smaller and easier steps, using simple explanations, diagrams, real-life examples, and exam-style questions. I would encourage the student to explain ideas back to me in their own words so I can check that they genuinely understand the topic rather than simply memorising it. We would work through questions together at first, before the student attempts similar questions independently. I would give patient and constructive feedback, explain how marks are awarded, and help them improve their exam technique. I would also regularly revisit earlier topics to strengthen their memory, track their progress over time, and make sure they feel comfortable asking questions whenever they are unsure.
