I am an articulate, conscientious, and student-focused History tutor with an engaging, positively intense teaching style. I combine high academic standards with an upbeat and supportive approach, aiming to push students beyond passive memorisation towards genuine conceptual understanding. I help students improve essay structure, source analysis, argumentation, exam technique, and revision strategy, with a strong focus on the higher-level thinking needed for Grade 9/A* performance. My teaching emphasises critical analysis, historical interpretation, and clear written expression rather than rote learning alone. I also understand the psychology of exam seasons and help students manage pressure through structured revision plans, disciplined study habits, and confidence-building under timed conditions. My lessons are adapted to the individual student. Some benefit from close one-to-one support and reassurance, while others respond best to intellectual challenge and academic pressure. I aim to recognise this quickly and create lessons that are motivating, disciplined, and genuinely engaging. Above all, I am deeply passionate about history regardless of the topic, and I aim to make that enthusiasm intellectually contagious in every lesson.
