Professional Session Drummer teaches Drums (Beginner to Advanced)

Advert description
Lessons with me will be relaxed, fun and informative. I like to focus on enjoyment, but still cover subjects such as technique & posture. I will give you the building blocks on which your drumming will expand quickly, and have you playing your first beat in the very first lesson, even if you've never played drums before!

Then we will move into the fundamentals of drumming - the Rudiments. I'll explain them in an easy to understand way, and show you fun ways to apply them on the drum set. Lessons can be tailored to your own specification based on what approach you prefer. I work from the Rockschool syllabus and can help you with your grades, although this isn't a necessity if you would just like to play for fun and jam along to your favourite songs!

For the more advanced player, we can work on technique, and delve into the deeper elements of drumming like vocabulary, dynamics, feel, click training and many other subjects to sharpen up your skills and take you to the next level. We can cover other aspects of music - how to become a session musician, career advice, effective practicing and much more.

A little info about me -
I have 30 years experience playing drums in a variety of situations - Touring and Live Performance, TV/Film, Live Radio, Studio Recording, Private and Public Education. I have recorded music for artists both nationally in the UK and Internationally (Spain, Canada), played support slots for artists & bands such as Sir Bob Geldof, Level 42 and The Coral.
I have studied with some of the world's top drummers (Keith Carlock, Benny Greb, Mark Guiliana, Mike Johnston, Ash Soan, Jojo Mayer, Steve White, Craig Blundell...) and also had my drumming featured in the Hollywood movie production 'Jimi: All Is By My Side' alongside Outkast's Andre 3000.

Talented teacher and drummer whose lessons are always engaging and fun. Marty mixes between teaching the basics and demonstrating what’s possible with more complex patterns. He’s always able to help break down a drum piece you’ve heard and understand how to play it.
