clarinet, flute, recorder, piano, saxophone, music theory to children and adults

Advert description
I have been living my music dream for decades. First, through learning recorder, then clarinet and saxophone, and at last, piano. When I am playing, all the colours of the world surround me. Later after my studies at university, I started teaching all of those instruments, including theory, to ages 4-83. I cannot express how much I love the feeling of joy and fulfilment that comes from daily tutoring and playing in the evenings.

Orchestration was one of my core modules whilst studying at university. It gave me an exceptional insight into the fundamentals of instruments, instrumental writing and arranging. I have since used various music softwares (Sibelius, Musescore, Logic Pro) to compose, record, arrange and edit sheet music for either my own performances or my lessons. I try to show my students what they can do, first with paper, then later on with modern technology, in our lessons, we learn together how far they can go and how much they can really achieve with their music.

During my music career, I have got to know a lot of beginners of all ages, adapted my teaching according to their needs. It’s important to realise that everyone is different and whilst one pupil will learn this way, the other one will learn this way too but with just a little adjustment.

I would be thrilled to meet all your pupils to offer them my colourful perspective in music, with my enthusiastic, motivated and passionate personality. It would give me a great opportunity to put my knowledge to use so that more and more people can play and hear the music within and around them.
Daniela Dugard in a nutshell
I stepped into the ‘’St Greg’s’’ (music concert hall at our university) on the first day, I sat down on the 2nd clarinet chair, our conductor lifted his baton, we played the first note of the Hebridean Rhapsody, and the music was just everywhere. The place to be.

Since secondary school, then throughout university until now, I have enjoyed working on numerous projects with musicians and music educators such musicals, concerts and other performances. This would include finding the perfect venue for the project, contact the performers and technicians, music libraries, organise and lead rehearsals, and more.
