Advert description
I tailor each lesson to the individual student's goals, whether that's building foundational skills in drawing and composition, exploring new materials and techniques, or developing a personal creative practice. I begin by understanding where the student is and what they want to achieve, then design clear, structured sessions with practical demonstrations and hands-on activities.
My teaching approach is patient and adaptive - I break down complex processes into manageable steps, demonstrate techniques live on camera, and provide constructive feedback that helps students see tangible progress. I draw on my first-class training at the Glasgow School of Art to share rigorous technical skills in mark-making, observational drawing, and composition, while my experience as a qualified TEFL and English tutor ensures I can communicate concepts clearly and meet learners where they are.
Between sessions, I can provide curated resources, set reflective tasks, and monitor progress against agreed goals. My aim is to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable taking creative risks, developing their own voice, and building confidence in their artistic abilities. I believe genuine enthusiasm and thoughtful guidance go a long way in helping students unlock their potential.
