Warwick Computer Science Student Tutoring GCSE Maths

Advert description
Hi, I’m Freddie, I am currently studying Msci Computer Science at the University of Warwick. I achieved A* in A-Level Maths, A* in A-Level Computer Science, A in A-Level Physics and A in A-Level Further Maths. Beyond the curriculum, I have competed in multiple UKMT Olympiads and sat the TMUA which aims to test a deeper understanding of the subject with challenging questions beyond the standard curriculum.

I have had previous experience tutoring, helping students between Years 7-9 at school with the topics that they were studying at the time.

I take a friendly and patient approach to tutoring, tailoring each lesson to the ability of the student. I focus on developing a strong understanding of the fundamentals of maths rather than simply memorising techniques. I believe that this helps the student beyond improving their grade and makes learning future topics easier and more intuitive.

My lessons are aimed for students in secondary education with the main focus on AQA and Edexcel GCSE mathematics. I can help students strengthen their understanding of difficult topics, prepare for exams and develop their confidence in mathematics.

In addition to GCSE maths, I also help students prepare for UKMT competitions, such as the Junior Mathematical Challenge, by developing their approach to complex questions and problem-solving abilities.

Lessons, typically 1 hour long, usually consist of a quick review of a topic before moving onto a variety of questions from a question bank that I personally built which mimic real exam questions to reinforce their understanding and exam technique.

Freddie was a classmate and helped me throughout my maths GCSE. He was very experienced in the topics he taught me and allowed me to achieve a higher grade than I would have without his help. I found his patience and ability to break down a problem while explaining it to be excellent, and it is one of the things I look for most in a tutor. I couldn't recommend Freddie more for anyone looking for a good maths tutor.
