Specialist SEND Tutor providing English Lessons to Young people of all ages

Hi, My name is Emma and I have been a tutor for over 10 years and specialize in working with children and young people who have SEN and SEMH needs. I began my journey working as an applied behavioral analysis tutor for young people with ASD, teaching both academics and life skills. I am a qualified RBT (Registered Behavioral Technician)

In more recent years I have transferred to teaching academics for agencies, taking referrals from local authorities to teach young people with EOTAS packages.
I believe that every child and young person should be able to receive to high quality education in a way that works for them. I provide engaging lessons to help students reach their full potential, in a supportive and adaptable environment, combining mentoring with academic sessions.

I help to teach students who may struggle in a mainstream class room environment to engage with education and enjoy learning, as well as helping students who may need some extra support outside of school. I currently provide lessons to help students achieve their functional skills qualifications from entry 1 to level 2 in English, as well as Key stage 1 to 4 English.

I believe the key to helping young people engage with education is providing a compassionate and understanding environment, where their worries and frustrations around education are understood. Therefore, building a positive relationship with every student I work with is extremely important to me. To facilitate this, I provide the first session with each student for free, so we can have an in depth consultation into how education looks for them and how I can provide the best support going forward.
