Advert description
I hold a BSc in Biochemistry, which gives me a strong foundation in science and mathematics. My main focus is tutoring GCSE students in Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics, helping them gain confidence, fill knowledge gaps, and prepare effectively for their exams.
I have experience supporting students of different ability levels, from those aiming to secure a Grade 4/5 pass to high achievers working towards Grades 7–9. I understand the curriculum requirements of major exam boards including AQA, Edexcel, and OCR, and tailor my lessons to meet each student’s individual needs.
My previous tutoring and mentoring experience includes working with small groups and one-to-one sessions, where I provided personalised support and created custom learning materials such as worksheets, quizzes, and summary notes. I’ve also helped students build exam technique, analyse past paper questions, and understand mark schemes—key areas often overlooked in the classroom.
I take time before each lesson to understand which topics or units the student finds most challenging, so I can prepare targeted questions, examples, and activities. This preparation helps ensure that every session is focused, engaging, and relevant.
I’m also familiar with a variety of learning styles and can adapt my teaching to suit visual, verbal, or practical learners. Whether it's simplifying tricky chemical reactions, breaking down biology processes, or showing the steps to solve maths problems, I use a clear, patient, and step-by-step approach that helps students not just memorise but truly understand.
My goal is to make lessons interactive, supportive, and productive—so students walk away feeling more confident in both their knowledge and their ability to apply it.
