Experienced Head of History and GCSE Examiner Helping Students Build Confidence, Master Exam Technique and Achieve Success in GCSE History

I am a passionate and highly successful Head of History with 13 years of teaching experience and a proven track record of helping students achieve excellent exam results. As a fully qualified and practising Head of Department, I have extensive knowledge of the GCSE curriculum and a deep understanding of what exam boards are looking for.

Alongside my teaching role, I have been a GCSE examiner for two major exam boards for the past seven years. This gives me valuable insight into current exam requirements, mark schemes, and the techniques students need to maximise their marks.

I provide tuition for both KS3 and GCSE History. As the leader of a thriving History department at a successful secondary school, I have helped secure results within the top 20% nationally in recent years. In 2026, my GCSE History cohort achieved results that were 10% above the national average for grades 4-9.

My lessons are tailored to the needs of each student and focus on developing subject knowledge, strengthening exam technique, improving essay writing, and building effective revision and recall strategies.
