My way of teaching would be to go over the topic in which the student is struggling or needs to learn more and give them questions on that topic which gradually increase in difficulty to test their ability and helps them improve in a staircase manner. My past experience is not as a tutor but I have helped various people such as friends and family who have all showed positive improvements. I was able to achieve a garde 9 in gcse maths and an 8 in further maths and was one of the top students in my year for maths and physics
