My skills and experience: I have one and a half years of experience teaching in ECD, where I work with young children and develop their English, communication, phonics, reading, and early learning skills. I also have TEFL qualifications that help me teach adults, teenagers, and learners of all age groups. In addition, I have a Grade 12 Senior Certificate and a Diploma in Somatology. My experience as a Somatologist allowed me to work with people from many different cultures and backgrounds, which strengthened my communication and interpersonal skills. I have also been involved in the invigilation of Grade 12 matric examinations. I am fluent in English and Afrikaans and I am confident teaching learners of all ages and levels. How I will teach: I will make my lessons interactive, engaging, and learner-centred. I will first understand the learner's age, level, needs, and goals, and then adapt my lessons accordingly. With younger learners, I will use pictures, stories, phonics, repetition, games, and fun activities to keep them engaged. With teenagers and adults, I can focus more on conversation, pronunciation, vocabulary, reading, grammar, and practical communication. My goal is to create a friendly and encouraging online classroom where learners feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and building confidence while improving their English skills.
