Advert description
Our tutorials will be planned around your individual needs, building from whatever level you are currently working at and moving at a pace that suits you.
We will work together on an online whiteboard to break down diagrams, maths and difficult concepts in an interactive way. My aim is not just for you to recognise an idea, but to be able to explain it confidently in your own words.
We will also focus closely on exam technique. Using your specification, past-paper questions and mark schemes, I will help you understand what examiners are looking for and practise applying that knowledge to essays and unseen questions.
Effective revision is active, not passive, so I will also show you practical ways to remember content and apply it under exam conditions.
At the end of each lesson, you will receive a lesson pack containing the work we completed together, so you have something useful to revisit afterwards.
I first started teaching economics while I was in Sixth Form, helping other students after school during a difficult teacher transition when our class had fallen behind. I went on to achieve an A* in A Level Economics, alongside A*s in Maths, Politics and History, as well as full marks in an EPQ combining politics and economics.
I then studied economics as part of PPE at Oxford, where I had the time of my life! I absolutely love learning, teaching and talking about economics. It is a subject that lends itself to fascinating discussions, and I hope we will have plenty of them together.
I have also worked with many successful applicants to Oxford and Cambridge for economics-related courses. Students I have worked with have gone on to receive 5 Oxford PPE offers, 2 Oxford Economics & Management offers and 6 Cambridge Economics offers.
My own academic path was not always straightforward. I did not really connect with education until Sixth Form, needed additional support with dyslexia, and had to reapply to Oxford after narrowly missing out first time. That experience taught me that progress is rarely linear, and I try to meet each student wherever they are and help them move forward with confidence.
