I've been tutoring online for several years now, and taught full classes remotely during the pandemic. Sessions are structured but responsive: I typically work through exam-style questions, review written work with detailed feedback, or tackle specific topics students are struggling with. Between sessions, I set targeted tasks - usually practice questions, which we discuss in the subsequent session. The format suits Economics tutoring particularly well since so much of it is about developing written technique and applying concepts to current examples, both of which translate effectively online.
