Oxbridge Entrance Exam History Tutor and A Level Tutor in History, Geography and Biology

I hold a Bachelors degree from the University of Cambridge in History and I am pursuing a Master’s degree in Museum Studies from University College London. I received A* grades in History, Biology and Geography at A Level.

I have several years experience tutoring in History, including preparing students for Oxbridge entrance examinations, with multiple successful results. I provide tailored preparation for both entrance examinations and mock interviews. For interview preparation, I conduct realistic mock interviews, using probing questions to replicate the style and demands of an Oxbridge interview, followed by constructive, detailed feedback on both the student’s response and interview technique. I also take students through past entrance examination papers, first collaboratively planning responses to questions, and then encouraging students to do several timed mock submissions, after which I provide detailed feedback on their analytical and written skills.


For GCSE and A Level students in History, Biology and Geography, I take a lively, encouraging, and personalised approach to tutoring. I adapt my approach to each student’s needs, focusing lessons on the precise elements of the specification with which they are uncomfortable. Alongside subject knowledge, I emphasise exam technique, helping students maximise their answers to gain all the marks available. This includes teaching transferable techniques such as constructing and substantiating an argument, selecting the most appropriate examples, and developing a clear writing style. I help students to develop study habits and revision strategies which will give them confidence when preparing for exams.
