I start by identifying any gaps in understanding and then build a solid foundation through clear explanations, worked examples, and lots of guided practice. I believe in making maths feel less intimidating by breaking down complex ideas into simple, manageable steps.
I use a mix of interactive questioning, problem-solving exercises, and real-life applications to help students connect with the subject and stay motivated. Whether we’re tackling algebra, geometry, or exam techniques, I always encourage questions and aim to build confidence through positive reinforcement.
I’ve also had the privilege of volunteering to teach maths to children in Africa, an experience that deepened my passion for education and helped me develop a patient, flexible teaching style that adapts to different learning abilities and backgrounds.
With experience both as a student of engineering and a mentor, I bring not just academic knowledge, but real-world insight into how maths is used beyond the classroom. My goal is to help students feel confident, capable, and ready to tackle any challenge in maths – and even enjoy it along the way!
