Advert description
I have experience as a Postgraduate Tutor in the School of Psychology at Cardiff University (October 2023–present), where I deliver inclusive small-group tutorials to undergraduate students across a range of psychology modules. My teaching experience includes explaining complex psychological theories and research in an accessible way, facilitating discussion on sensitive topics, and adapting sessions to accommodate diverse learning styles and accessibility needs.
I have substantial experience in assessment and marking, providing detailed, constructive, and criteria-based feedback that supports students’ academic development. I actively support students in strengthening their academic writing, critical thinking, research methods understanding, and assessment literacy. Alongside academic guidance, I provide pastoral support to students experiencing personal, wellbeing, or academic challenges, responding empathetically while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries and safeguarding awareness. I am experienced in signposting students to relevant university support services where appropriate.
Through completing the Launchpad: Introduction to Teaching & Supporting Learning training, I have further developed my understanding of inclusive teaching practices, ethical and equality frameworks, and effective feedback strategies. My key skills include inclusive teaching, academic mentoring, assessment and marking, constructive feedback, clear communication of complex material, empathic listening, safeguarding awareness, ethical practice, and strong time management.
