Advert description
I recently achieved an 8–7 in Edexcel GCSE Combined Science and offer supportive online lessons in biology, chemistry and physics for KS2, KS3 and GCSE Combined Science students. Having recently completed my GCSEs, I understand the course content, revision process and pressure students may experience.
Before the first full lesson, I will ask about the student’s year group, exam board, current level, goals and the topics they find most difficult. I will then tailor the lesson around the areas where they need the most support.
A typical lesson will begin with a brief recap or starter question. I will then explain the main topic clearly using step-by-step examples, diagrams and screen sharing or a digital whiteboard where helpful. The student will complete guided questions with my support before attempting questions more independently. For GCSE students, lessons may include exam-style questions, calculations, required practicals, scientific vocabulary and guidance on answering command words correctly.
I encourage students to ask questions and will never make them feel embarrassed for getting something wrong. Mistakes help identify what needs to be explained or practised again. I regularly check understanding by asking students to explain concepts in their own words rather than simply memorising an answer.
Each lesson will end with a summary of the key points, feedback on progress and a clear area to practise next. Where appropriate, I may provide a small number of practice questions to reinforce the lesson.
My teaching style is patient, friendly and judgement-free. My aim is to make science feel clearer and less overwhelming while helping students develop confidence, stronger subject knowledge and better exam technique. I am most familiar with Edexcel Combined Science, but I can also adapt lessons around a student’s school curriculum or exam-board specification.
