My online science lessons are supportive, interactive and adapted to each student’s individual needs. I teach KS2 and KS3 Science, as well as GCSE Combined Science, covering biology, chemistry and physics. I recently completed my own GCSEs and achieved an 8–7 in Edexcel Combined Science, so I have current experience of the course, revision process and exam expectations.

Before the first full lesson, I will ask about the student’s year group, exam board, current level, goals and the topics they find most difficult. This information will allow me to plan lessons that focus on the areas where they need the most support.

A typical lesson will begin with a brief recap or starter question to check what the student already understands. I will then introduce the main topic using clear, step-by-step explanations, diagrams, examples and a digital whiteboard or screen sharing where helpful. The student will complete guided questions with my support before attempting questions more independently. For GCSE students, lessons may also include exam-style questions, calculations, required practicals, scientific vocabulary and guidance on how to respond to different command words.

I encourage students to ask questions throughout the lesson, and I will never make them feel embarrassed for getting something wrong. Mistakes are useful because they show us exactly what needs to be explained or practised again. I will regularly check understanding by asking students to explain concepts in their own words rather than simply memorising an answer.

Each lesson will finish with a summary of the key points, feedback on the student’s progress and a short plan for what to practise next. Where appropriate, I may provide a small number of practice questions to help reinforce the lesson.

My aim is to make science feel clearer and less overwhelming while helping students develop confidence, stronger subject knowledge and better exam technique. I am particularly familiar with Edexcel Combined Science, but I can also adapt lessons around a student’s school curriculum or exam-board specification.
