An engaging, experienced art teacher with a love of helping others to discover the type of art and creativity that excites them

Hello, I’m Sophie! I'm an artist and educator who loves helping people find their own way into creative work - whether that means building solid technical foundations or loosening up and taking creative risks. My own path started in figurative painting and drawing and has since opened out into experimental mixed-media and abstract work, and I bring that same spirit of exploration into how I teach.

I work with a wide range of ages, levels, and personalities - from primary school children to adults - and I adapt intuitively to each person I teach. Some students want help sharpening skills; others need permission to make a mess, take a wrong turn, or trust their instincts. I'm equally comfortable with both, and I think a great session should always feel enjoyable, not just productive.

What matters most to me is genuinely supporting people - building confidence alongside skill, and making sure creativity stays fun. I'd love to help you develop your practice, whatever stage you're at.
