Sophie is such an incredible artist and art teacher. She is so kind and thoughtful and goes out of her way to ensure everyone is having the best experience possible during her art lessons. I have learnt so much from Sophie this past year from taking her classes and always have an awesome project at the end to show for it. She’s amazing with children and has produced some really amazing artwork with them. I’d recommend Sophie’s lessons to anyone and everyone!

Soohie’s adult classes are brilliant. Even for complete beginners with no art background. You get to meet a small group of lovely people in a very relaxed environment, usually in a pub or cafe so you can have a drink or snack, catch up with people and get into a zone, exploring a different artist, style or medium each week. Even though I was occasionally out of my comfort zone, I found it surprisingly mindful, awakening a new interest and joy in art. Thanks Sophie and YAS art!

Sophie is an incredibly talent artist and wonderful teacher who brings her love for art, and the power of creativity, to every session through fun, engaging and hands-on learning. Our boys have been going to her after school clubs and holiday camps for many years now and thoroughly enjoy them! I am always amazed by the amount, quality and breadth of work she is able to get the children to produce. She draws on the inspiration from various artists in order to create diverse and interesting sessions that allow the children to explore and enjoy a wide variety of techniques and creative outlets. It is wonderful to see how confidently they bring their ideas to life. She has worked wonders with our youngest child, who refused to do any form of art when he started out. He now loves to draw and create and it has been a pleasure to watch his artistic confidence grow under her guidance. Thank you, Sophie!

Sophie’s after-school and holiday-camp YAS art classes for children are amazing! We can’t recommend them highly enough. The themes and materials are exciting, varied, inspiring, and always fun, sometimes incorporating other aspects of art, such as music, poetry, and film. Sophie is the best teacher and our boys (now 10 and 12) adore her. She is down to earth, caring, with clear plans and direction, but also giving the kids the freedom and encouragement to explore their creativity. Our eldest is naturally ‘arty’ and despite having specific interests always loves Sophie’s classes and connecting with a different group of kids to his usual school friends. Our youngest was not at all confident with drawing or expressing himself through art but has come on in leaps and bounds since starting the YAS classes a few years ago and loves it now. We feel very lucky to have these classes local to us.

My daughter has been Sophie’s student for nearly four years, and throughout that time she has loved her weekly group classes, holiday camps, as well as her private drawing and painting lessons. Sophie is a wonderful teacher and creative mentor. She is patient, kind, and incredibly generous with her time and knowledge. My partner and I have attended Sophie's Monday night art classes in Belsize Park over the course of the last 3 years. Sophie is an exceptional tutor. She is incredibly creative, patient and supportive, creating a welcoming environment for artists of all abilities. Always providing high-quality equipment and supplies, her classes have allowed us to explore a wide range of techniques and ideas. Most importantly, Sophie is simply a joy to learn from, making every session both inspiring and enjoyable. Highly recommend!

Sophie is an amazing teacher! I enjoy every single class, she’s always bringing something new and I get to try different materials, techniques, ideas and learn from different artists. I like that you get to learn things without having to copy something else, you are free to be creative, and if you feel stuck she’s always helpful and encouraging.
