Advert description
I have a strong background in Biology, supported by a PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biotechnology and current research experience at University College London. My expertise includes cell biology, genetics, biochemistry and neurobiology. I have teaching experience at multiple levels, including delivering lectures, leading laboratory sessions and supporting student learning through one-to-one mentoring.
Through my role with The Brilliant Club, I have developed key tutoring skills, including lesson planning, adapting teaching to different learning styles and providing personalised feedback. I have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds, helping them improve both subject understanding and academic confidence. I also have experience marking assessments and guiding students in exam preparation and scientific writing.
My teaching approach is structured, interactive and student-focused. I begin by assessing the student’s current level and identifying areas for improvement. I then explain concepts clearly using simple language, examples and visual aids where appropriate. I actively engage students through questions, discussions and short exercises to reinforce understanding.
I adapt each lesson to the student’s needs, ensuring the pace is appropriate and that key concepts are fully understood before moving on. I also provide regular feedback and practical tips to improve exam performance. My aim is to create a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel confident and motivated to learn.
