Private piano teacher with 30 yrs experience. Advanced pupils, international awards and Distinctions in Grade 8

Based in Cambridge, I am a private piano teacher with in-person (30 years) and remote (7 years) experience. Teaching creatively, yet methodically, I developed my own neuroscientifically based methodology which is successful with total beginners until conservatory level. I have approached each pupil with a tailor-made approach for them. My aim is to give enjoyable lessons, so that the pupil has input in the lessons and develop a lifetime enjoyment of this enriching part of life. I have studied with the pupils of Madame Gaby Casadesus, Leon Fleisher, Sir Ronald Smith, Alfred Brendel and am in the line of Beethoven. I was honoured to be a piano concerto soloist with the Philadelphia Orchestra, Delaware Repertory Orchestra and RPI Orchestra. I have given solo concerts in Cambridge, London, Portugal, Israel, Italy and the Mediterranean. Mostly teaching in my own private practice, I have also taught piano amongst advanced students at The Leys School, Cambridge. Many of my pupils have won local awards in Cambridge, a regional award in Shanghai, China and an international award. Most of my pupils achieve Distinctions or Merits in Graded exams, but ALL have come to enjoy music. I teach using English and some Mandarin Chinese.
