Advert description
Having taken 5 11+ exams myself, attaining places at each school, and having since helped with the co-ordination of the exams at my respective secondary school and sixth form, I feel more than capable of teaching not only the content but the technique for these exams. I understand the exams can be a daunting prospect, having been in that situation myself, but as someone who received no tuition for them, I know what strategies to implement to give students the best chance at success. I know that no two students learn in the same way, so I endeavour to take the time to understand what exactly each student is struggling with and tailoring materials to this, as opposed to blanket-teaching with materials available freely to anyone. I also hope to impart any tips and tricks which I feel can help a student face the exams mentally, and offer insight into what the exams are really testing. Having just finished secondary school and being in my first year of university, I feel I also have a teaching edge in terms of my ability to relate to young pupils better than older tutors may.
As for piano, I aim to help students progress in a way that is enjoyable and inspires a love for the piano just as I have been fortunate enough to develop. I am a diploma-level pianist currently working towards my ABRSM LRSM qualification with prior experience teaching musicianship and piano, and as a student I feel able to connect with students easier than perhaps some other tutors may.
