Or why read a book when you have social media and the whole of the internet to play with? The fact is, that reading and writing are still essential skills for kids and a love for them needs to begin at a young age. The trick now is to shift teaching to reflect the modern world, which is more likely to build a solid love for the subjects. I have always loved reading and writing. I was one of those strange kids that enjoyed writing essays at school! This led me to my career as a freelance writer, which I have been doing for over 10 years now. With this background, plus several years as a Teaching Support Officer, I design creative lessons based around your child's like and dislikes to develop a love of English, particularly writing and reading.
