I don't believe everyone should be taught the same way. Every person is different.

For the first session, I will want to simply chat; what are your likes and dislikes? What are your struggles with writing or reading? What do you want to do as a career? What are your hobbies? All of this will help me tailor a plan to combine your hobbies and loves with writing and reading.

Yes, learning about Shakespeare has been one of the traditional forms of teaching when it comes to reading and writing, but it doesn't have to be. Are you a fan of certain TV programs? Do you love sport? Are you a big fan of a particular music style? Do you prefer to learn through practical means rather than theoretical? All of these things can be used to build a love of reading and writing. To be successful about learning something, you have to be passionate about it. I aim to make my students passionate about writing and reading, building a solid foundation for the future. I don't force assignments. If something doesn't appeal, we will move onto another idea. This is designed to be a collaborative effort between both teacher and student. No one wants to do a subject that isn't fun, so my goal is to make this fun and interesting for you. I understand that getting a tutor can be stressful and nerve-wracking. Rest assured that we will take it at your pace and everything will be tailored to your particular needs.
