Geography Teacher with First class Geography degree here to teach the next generation of Geographers online

Geography is my passion, to me it’s the most interesting subject in the world. It’s got so many levels, connects everything everywhere and anyone can find something they absolutely love inside this subject. I was unfortunate to not have a very good Geography teacher they didn’t want to be there and we weren’t engaged. I want to change the narrative behind Geography. Less ‘Oh so you just study rivers?’ and more ‘No I study the WHOLE world.’

I studied Geography in college but what really got me engaged was travelling. I saw different cultures, landscapes and the real world around me. Not everyone is as fortunate, so I want to use my teaching skills from English teaching in Mexico/Peru and Loas, my coaching skills from basketball and my Geography knowledge from my a First class degree in it to support the next generation of geographers. In a world where there is so much darkness, why not get people engaged and excited by the incredible world around us.

I have recently been working with young Refugees. I have found that connecting them with the world around them, through conversation about different cultures, landscapes and international opportunities available has been really beneficial for their integration into the UK. But why stop there? Why not educate younger generations on the world around them, creating a more aware, conscious and cohesive society.
