Advert description
I am based in the Bristol area and offer both in-person tutorials (local) and online sessions.
My teaching approach is centred around building your skills and confidence, with the aim of helping you become an independent, reflective, and analytical learner in Business Studies.
I have one year of classroom experience teaching Business Studies, receiving training and guidance through the education charity Teach First. Alongside this, I have extensive experience working one-to-one and in small groups. I can also tutor small groups (up to three students) to ensure sessions remain focused and high quality. My subject knowledge also covers Economics and statistics from my time studying Food Business management at Newcastle University
The method to my madness, i.e. How I teach:
Breaking down concepts into clear, manageable steps.
Working on problems together to find a suitable strategy and routine that feels comfortable and easy for YOU to create perfect answers time and time again.
Supervising practice so you can confidently apply what you’ve learned.
Why might you choose me?
From my classroom experience I acknowledge that as a teacher it is hard to tailer and teach different strategies of learning for everyone. There is a very standardised approach taken to education in a lot of schools, however improving your work is finding out how you personally like to work and how you process things. Therefore my commitment as a tutor is to find the best way for you to express and build on your knowledge.
In addition, I have experience working with children who have SEMH needs and a wide range of SEND, from moderate to complex. I am currently undertaking a course in Makaton and hope to become more fluent in time. At present, however, if you or your child is non-verbal, I will not be the best fit.
