I am curently studying at one of the most prestige universities in the UK ~ the University of Bristol (QS world ranked 55). I also received my Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in English from The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong in 2023. The program contains literature and linguistics. I am passionate about Linguistics. Moreover, I also have profesisonal teaching qualification (Trinity CertTESOL). I literally feel like I am a Linguistics enthusiast. Furthermore, I have plenty of diverse working experience, such as being a waitress, customer service assistant, private tutoring and university research assistant. In terms of personality, I love communicating with people from all over the world. Moreover, I love doing sports a lot in my spare time, including jogging, hiking and cycling.
I will use PPP (Presentation, Practice, Production) teaching approach to teach. It is a commonly used approach in teaching English as a foreign language. It focuses on introducing new language structures or vocabulary, providing opportunities for practice, and promoting independent production of the language by the students.
1. Presentation:
• Introduce the new language point (e.g., a grammar structure, vocabulary set) in a clear and concise manner. Use visual aids, real-life examples, or context to help students understand the meaning and usage of the language.
• Provide explanations, demonstrations, and model sentences to illustrate how the language is used correctly.
• Engage students through questions, discussions, or elicitation techniques to activate their prior knowledge and build a foundation for the new language.
2. Practice:
• Design controlled practice activities to give students structured opportunities to apply the new language. These activities should focus on accuracy and provide a controlled environment for practice.
• Use exercises, worksheets, or drills that target the specific language point. This can include completing sentences, matching exercises, or gap-filling activities.
Monitor students' performance during the practice stage and provide feedback and clarifications as needed.
3. Production:
• Create opportunities for students to produce the language independently and in more authentic and communicative contexts.
• Design activities that encourage students to use the new language creatively and meaningfully. This can include role-plays, discussions, debates, or writing tasks.
