With over 20 years of experience teaching English Language and English Literature, I have developed a proven track record of helping students achieve exceptional outcomes at both GCSE and A Level. Throughout my career, I have taught a wide range of texts, specifications and abilities, combining academic rigour with a passion for inspiring students to become confident, independent learners and critical thinkers.

Alongside extensive classroom teaching, I have significant experience preparing students for competitive university applications, including Oxbridge entry. This has involved supporting students with personal statements, interview preparation, critical reading and the development of sophisticated analytical and writing skills required for success at the highest academic level.

A particular strength of my work has been supporting students who have previously struggled to achieve a pass in GCSE English. For the past 10 years, I have specialised in helping resit students and those who have not yet secured a grade 4 or above, enabling them to build confidence, overcome barriers to learning and achieve qualifications that open doors to further education and employment.

My approach combines high expectations, expert subject knowledge and strong pastoral support, ensuring students are challenged, motivated and equipped with the skills they need to succeed both academically and beyond the classroom.
