My lessons are friendly, engaging and tailored to each student's individual needs. I aim to make English Literature enjoyable and accessible while helping students build confidence and develop the skills they need to succeed in their GCSEs.
Lessons can cover key texts, including novels, plays and poetry, with a focus on understanding themes, characters, context and the writer's methods. I can also help students improve their essay structure, analyse quotations effectively and develop their exam technique in line with GCSE expectations.
I believe in breaking down difficult concepts into simple, manageable steps and encouraging students to share their own ideas and interpretations. Each lesson will be adapted to the student's strengths, areas for improvement and learning pace, with opportunities to practise exam-style questions and receive constructive feedback.
I understand that every student learns differently, so I aim to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and developing their ideas. Rather than simply memorising information, students will be encouraged to think critically about the texts they study and explore how writers communicate their messages.
Whether a student needs help understanding a particular poem, exploring a character's development or improving their essay responses, I will provide clear explanations, useful examples and practical strategies they can apply independently. We can also revise key quotations, explore alternative interpretations and work on meeting GCSE assessment objectives.
My overall goal is to help students become more confident, independent learners who can express their ideas clearly and approach their English Literature exams feeling prepared and capable of achieving their potential.
