I have taught multiple students guitar, and I have found that the most effective way to teach is by introducing a chord progression and explaining how, and why the chords are interlinked. And for the last section of the lesson I introduce a scale and we jam for the last section of the class. After every class I will provide useful links and books to read and I will always set a homework task. It’s very important to practice after the class!
