Empathetic, practical life coach to support students 16+ in setting and achieving goals in life and a range of subjects.

Advert description
I am a compassionate, grounded and positive person with strong communication, listening and organisational skills and a genuine interest in helping people develop confidence, overcome obstacles and achieve their personal goals. I have previous teaching experience as a Music Tutor at the London Centre of Contemporary Music, where I taught and supported third-year degree students in studio recording and music production. I explained information clearly, adapted my approach to different students from diverse backgrounds, assessed their work and provided constructive feedback. A particularly important part of the role was encouraging students, building their confidence and helping them work through challenges independently rather than simply giving them solutions. I also have extensive professional experience in management, music and customer-facing roles. Most recently, I worked for 12 years as Senior Purchasing and Demand Forecaster. This required a high level of organisation, time management, problem-solving and self-motivation. I managed competing priorities and deadlines while communicating with colleagues, managers, suppliers and customers. These experiences have given me practical skills that I can pass on to students who may be struggling with organisation, focus or managing their workload. I recently completed a TQUK Level 2 Certificate in the Principles of the Mental Health Care Worker (RQF). Through this qualification, I developed my understanding of mental wellbeing, person-centred support, communication, safeguarding, confidentiality, dignity and respect. This has strengthened my awareness that factors such as stress, confidence and personal circumstances can affect someone's motivation, ability to concentrate and progress towards their goals. I will start by listening to the student and understanding what they would like to achieve, what they are finding difficult and what may be holding them back. Together, we will set realistic personal goals and break them down into manageable steps. I will use discussion, practical strategies and regular encouragement to support areas such as time management, organisation, study habits, focus, motivation and self-confidence. I will adapt each session to the individual so it is person centred. I will encourage students to recognise their progress and build on their strengths.
