Advert description
Qualified and currently practising teacher with an enhanced DBS, QTS and a PGCE in mathematics (ages 11-18, Cambridge University) and a PhD (York University). Offering tailored and expert tuition for A-Level, GCSE and KS3 maths students.
I love maths and love helping people. I always found that I was slower at school to grasp concepts, but due to the great support that I received, I was able to achieve straight A*/A grades at both GCSE and A Level. I therefore know how much of a difference having support and extra practice can make. Because I took longer to understand topics, I am patient with others. I am experienced in breaking down topics to make them seem easier for others, just as I made them easier for myself.
Teaching methods will vary depending on the student. We may review material that was found challenging at school or get you ahead of the rest of the class. The length of the lesson can vary based on the individual student. I am always understanding, friendly and patient.
I gained a PGCE from the University of Cambridge and a PhD from the University of York. During my integrated master's degree from Lancaster University, I received the highest grade in my year for my dissertation. I have QTS and an enhanced DBS check. I am currently a practising maths teacher working with deprived students. Previously, I worked in a school with a 94% pass rate in GCSE mathematics. Hence, I am very flexible with the type of student I teach.
Years 5/6, KS3, GCSE or A-level support for any student requiring some additional assistance, wanting to improve their grades, get ahead and challenge themselves or stay on top of their current work in
