I would teach by combining structured planning with personalized support to help each student overcome barriers to learning. I would: Assess individual needs – Identify each pupil’s strengths and areas for improvement through observation, discussions, and prior assessments. Plan differentiated activities – Tailor lessons and tasks to suit different learning abilities and styles, ensuring all pupils can engage and progress. Provide one-on-one or small group support – Work closely with students outside the main classroom to reinforce learning and build confidence. Use interactive and practical methods – Incorporate discussions, hands-on tasks, and technology where appropriate to make learning engaging and relevant. Monitor and feedback – Keep accurate records of progress, provide constructive feedback, and involve students in tracking their own learning. Promote positive behaviour and independence – Encourage responsibility, resilience, and respectful interactions in the learning environment. Engage with parents and colleagues – Communicate progress regularly and work with teachers to align support with classroom goals
