Advert description
As a first-year Law student at the University of York, I bring both strong academic credentials and valuable teaching experience to my lessons. Having achieved a Grade 9 in GCSE English Literature and an A* in A-Level English Literature, I have a thorough understanding of what examiners are looking for and the skills needed to succeed at both GCSE and A-Level.
Alongside my studies, I have tutored Maths and Piano, which has helped me develop patience, adaptability and the ability to explain challenging concepts in a clear and engaging way. I also spent two years volunteering as a Cub Scouts Young Leader, where I planned activities, mentored younger children and built strong communication and leadership skills. These experiences have taught me how to encourage students, adapt to different learning styles and create a positive environment where they feel comfortable asking questions.
Beyond tutoring, my work as a qualified lifeguard has strengthened my responsibility, organisation and ability to stay calm under pressure—qualities that I bring into every lesson. Studying Law has further developed my analytical thinking, essay-writing and critical reasoning skills, allowing me to help students build well-structured arguments and write with confidence. My goal is not only to improve grades but also to help students enjoy English Literature, develop independent thinking and gain the confidence to achieve their full potential.
