Advert description
I tutored Year 11 maths one to one for six months with Action Tutoring, all GCSE level, helping students fill the gaps underneath the topics they were stuck on and get ready for their exams. I also teach online every day in an education organisation I run, and I'm studying Business Economics at the University of Liverpool after A-levels in Maths, Economics and Computer Science.
My lessons follow a simple shape. I start by finding where you actually got stuck, which is usually a few topics further back than the one you're failing, and we fix that first. Then you work through problems while I watch how you think, so I can step in exactly where it breaks down rather than where a textbook assumes it should. If one explanation isn't landing, I switch to another until one does.
Closer to an exam we move onto past papers and mark schemes so you know what examiners are looking for. The aim is for the maths to make sense, not just get memorised for the test.
I also tutor some university-level maths, so explaining harder material clearly is already part of what I do. The maths isn't the hard part. Explaining it so it actually clicks is.
