It's the reading and writing, the formal register the exam wants, and knowing how the paper is marked. That's where I focus. If you're starting from scratch instead, we begin with the alphabet, sounds and first words and build from there.

Lessons are one to one and online, built around where you actually are. I start by finding what's solid and what isn't, then we work on real reading, writing and speaking rather than grammar drills for their own sake. I correct pronunciation as we go, and if one explanation isn't landing I switch to another until it does.

For exam students, we work through past papers and mark schemes closer to the date so you know exactly what the examiner rewards, since scoring well and speaking fluently are two different things.

I'm a native Urdu speaker, I took the GCSE myself, and I teach online every day in an education organisation I run, so keeping a video lesson moving and holding your attention is normal ground for me.
