Advert description
English can sometimes feel frustrating, overwhelming or confusing, especially when a student is struggling with reading, phonics, writing or communication. I understand that difficulties with English can also affect a student's confidence, which is why I take a patient, supportive and non-judgemental approach to learning.
I have experience working with children with different communication and learning needs, including children with speech delays. I use a child-centred approach, giving students the time and space they need to feel comfortable, express themselves and learn at their own pace. I believe that creating a positive and emotionally supportive learning environment can help students feel more confident in their abilities.
During our first session, I will assess the student's current level and identify their strengths and areas for development. I will then tailor sessions to their individual needs, working at a pace that is manageable for them and celebrating progress along the way.
I can support students from early reading and phonics through to GCSE English. For younger learners, sessions can focus on phonics, reading, spelling, vocabulary and building confidence. For GCSE students, I can support with reading comprehension, analysing texts, essay writing, creative writing, exam technique and exam-style questions.
My aim is not simply to improve a student's English, but to help them develop confidence in their own abilities. Through patience, encouragement and a supportive approach, I want students to feel that English is something they can succeed in rather than something they should feel embarrassed or anxious about.
