Online English Language and Literature Tutor Available for Immediate Start

I am 42 years old and I was born and raised in Birmingham in the UK, where I lived and worked until November 2025. I am currently based in Lahore, Pakistan. I am TEFL certified, with a strong internet connection and available immediately to work flexible hours, remotely.

I am a native English speaker with a Received Pronunciation (RP) accent. I am also fluent in Urdu, Mirpuri with a working knowledge of Punjabi. I currently teach English Language to young learners and Literature from KS2 - GCSE and A Level, both in person and online. With all the roles I have worked in, I have developed excellent communication skills that can be adapted to a variety of situations.

I am an experienced teacher, having taught subjects as diverse as English Literature, PSHE (Personal Social Health and Economic) Education with children and young people in mainstream and SEND school settings.

Throughout my career, I have been committed to cultivating best practice rooted in tackling structural inequality, through providing high quality education. In Pakistan I have taught English Language and Social Studies at Middle school level where I developed the lesson plans for Peace and Empathy club.

Although I am not a formally qualified teacher, I have been an educator for the majority of my professional life. As such, I am able to adapt my delivery to suit different settings and groups. I have been teaching Reiki to children aged 7-13 since 2022 and have used a range of approaches to discuss topics such as healthy relationships, consent, self esteem and positive communication, focused around forgiveness and gratitude.

I have a Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature. As a lifelong reader, and member of two online book clubs which meet weekly to discuss set texts, I am accustomed to leading sessions involving reading aloud and discussing novels in the English canon.
