I am an experienced English and TOEFL tutor with nearly six years of teaching experience at New Oriental Education in Beijing. I have worked extensively with young learners preparing for TOEFL and future overseas study, helping them develop their reading, listening, speaking and writing skills.

My lessons are highly personalised. I adapt both the content and teaching methods to each student's level, goals and interests, because I believe language learning should be engaging rather than simply completing exercises or memorising knowledge.

I regularly use authentic materials alongside course materials, bringing real-world English into lessons through topics and content that students can genuinely relate to. I encourage students to participate, ask questions and express their own ideas, so lessons are interactive and enjoyable while still working towards clear academic goals.

For me, successful language learning is not only about improving a test score. I also want students to develop effective learning habits, greater confidence and, most importantly, a genuine interest in using and learning English. When students become more curious about the language itself, progress can continue beyond the classroom.

I have recently completed my MA Education studies at UCL and hold a CELTA qualification. As a native Mandarin speaker, I can also support Chinese-speaking learners with language difficulties that I understand from both a teacher's and language learner's perspective.
