English Tutor _ English as a Foreign Language

English is the one subject that we should all master to be successful in any field of work.
Having learned and taught Spanish basics, I understand how frustrating it can be to not only learn a new language but to utilize it to work and interact with others.

I use a combination of visual, auditory and written methods to help students of all English proficiencies to understand. After a few sessions with my students we are usually able to determine the methods that work best for that student, allowing me to tweak my teaching style to better suit you.

I focus on a number of areas, aimed at helping you to read and write English accurately and to comfortable have conversations. I have a flexible schedule and am usually available at your convenience. Occasionally however, it may be necessary to assign independent work to you that you would submit during our next session. At times I may ask you to speak to other persons in English and share what you have learned. This method helps you to understand other accents and the nuances of conversational English that formal classes may not teach you.

I am a very hands-on tutor and continuously develop lesson plans that allow us to work side-by-side initially. Then, I gradually allow you to work more independently as you grasp concepts and become more confident with what you have learned. Slow readers are my specialty. I enjoy helping you to become more confident in what you see and to sound out letters to help you to learn new words independently.
