Enthusiastic and highly experienced teacher of +15yrs in Biology and Psychology GCSE and A-level

My name is Emma and I am highly experienced educator of my two favourite subjects, Biology and Psychology! I taught in the classroom for 13yrs, and during that time I have been Lead Teacher in Biology and Head of Psychology. I decided two years ago to leave the school environment and become a full-time tutor, allowing me lots of time to design, develop and teach small-group and 1:1lessons for my tutees.

My approach is very personal and individualised: I always like to chat with students and parents before we start our tutoring journey together, to help you get a feel for my tutoring style and for me to understand best your needs. Every lesson I teach looks different as no two students will have the exact same needs. I keep a shared summary of every lesson for student and parent to track how we are progressing and to share any resources from class. I encourage an open dialogue between all parties so that we are always working in the way that works best for you.

A caring and balanced approach is also important to me. I believe students are already under far too much pressure in the school environment and I certainly don’t want to add to that. So my goal is always to SUPPORT, both academically and mentally. Sometimes this extends to worried parents too!
